Sherweb launched a partnership with airSlate to offer signNow, an eSignature solution designed to simplify the signing and managing of documents online. We sat down with Scott Owen, VP Business Development & Channels at airSlate to talk about how signNow can enrich Sherweb partner offerings and why the product is a good fit for the channel.
Note: This interview has been edited for clarity and readability.
What is signNow?
signNow is a global, legally binding electronic signature offering that we provide around the planet.
airSlate is the parent company, which has three solutions in its portfolio: pdfFiller, which allows end users to create and edit PDFs, signNow, and award winning eSignature solution and airSlate, a no code workflow automation powered by bots.
How did you get started?
The company formed in 2008, bringing PDF filler—software editing for PDFs—to the table. We acquired signNow approximately three years ago from Barracuda Networks and incorporated it into our platform. About a year ago we launched the airSlate product. signNow, however, is the only product we’re launching with Sherweb and the channel at this time.
What inspired airSlate to get involved with the channel with signNow?
Our strategy is to accelerate revenue. We have a very small direct sales team, and our hyper growth will therefore occur through the channel. That’s why we reached out to Sherweb, whom we knew previously, to create a go-to-market strategy.
What’s your elevator pitch?
It goes like this: signNow goes beyond eSignatures to help companies move forward by automating document processes. With signNow you can increase your organization’s productivity with automated document workflows, delight customers with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface and save money while maximizing ROI—all with the confidence that industry-leading security and compliance standards are keeping your data safe.
What does the signNow solution do for end users?
Business benefits that end users receive are several fold. First, 80% of documents are completed in a day, so there’s an increase in productivity using signNow. There’s also a 127%, average increase in customer satisfaction scores with the use of signNow.
We also provide 25 times faster turnaround time on all documents within a workflow process. More importantly, we provide seven times return on investment in the first year of purchase.
What opportunities does signNow represent for managed service providers (MSPs) and other resellers?
For one, the opportunity for e-signatures right now is significant. Electronic signatures are now the number two work-from-home office solution, telemedicine being number one and web conferencing number three.
The total addressable market is also significant: $25 billion total globally. In Canada, the eSignature market is going to go from a $90 million total addressable market this year to $800 million total addressable market in less than 10 years. In the US market, electronic signatures will represent $332 million of total addressable market to $2.4 billion in the same time frame.
The opportunity is that everybody needs signature capabilities, especially in the COVID-19 environment. MSPs can therefore take advantage of a land grab chance to get that revenue.
What apps does signNow integrate with?
Out of the box, signNow integrates first and primarily with the complete Microsoft stack. So whether it’s Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Teams or Power Automate, signNow works with Microsoft apps completely out of the box. The solution also integrates with Google Workspace, Salesforce, NetSuite, other CRM tools and all of the cloud storage players like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.
What is signNow’s #1 business benefit for MSPs?
It’s hard to do just one! But I would say with the proliferation of work from anywhere—and COVID-19, obviously—has driven eSignatures as one of the top solutions that every customer needs worldwide. What’s awesome for MSPs is that eSignatures are applicable for all industries, for all lines of business and for all company sizes.
signNow isn’t focused on just one industry, it’s applicable for all industries. It’s not just for enterprise customers, it’s for all enterprise, mid-market and SMB customers across all lines of business. signNow is one of those unique solutions that everybody needs, and that’s applicable across the globe.
It’s also a sticky solution, with very high retention from a renewal perspective.
Is signNow secure?
In a word, yes! signNow is SOC2 certified and compliant with HIPAA, GDPR, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), the E-Sign Act and the California Consumers Protection Act (CCPA).
Why did signNow choose to partner with Sherweb to deliver this solution for the channel?
We’ve known Sherweb for a long time, being inside the Microsoft ecosystem, and always had a great respect for the leadership team and the company’s objectives. Sherweb is a born-in-the-cloud channel partner, both through the way it goes to market and the way it develops offerings for partners. There are a lot of distributors that have a channel, but they’re extremely transaction oriented, not MSP or solution oriented.
We believe Sherweb’s network of more than 6,000 MSP partners is very solution oriented, which we prefer as a selling model more than just transaction only. Sherweb’s broad partner base also gives us a great reach in both Canada and the US through highly respected team you have there.
